Most dedicated routes start as repeated one-off wins. A forwarder tenders an urgent run to Milwaukee or metro Detroit, it delivers on time, and a few recoveries later the question becomes obvious: why re-quote a lane that runs every week? A program answers it — assigned capacity on the required schedule, the same equipment and process every run, and a rate structure built for repetition instead of emergencies.
Building the program is a working session, not a form. The schedule, pickup and delivery facilities, dock procedures, equipment fit, and the communication plan — who gets the tracking link, who gets the POD, who gets called when something shifts — are defined up front, and terms are set per agreement, including multi-year commitments. BEExpedite already runs recurring lanes across Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio, so a new lane starts from practiced execution rather than a cold start.
